UWSC Announces Major Grant Opportunity
United Way of Story County (UWSC) is announcing another Community Impact Grant opportunity for projects that have a significant impact on the community and the people served in the areas of education, income and health. Grant sizes will start at $5,000, and agencies submitting proposals may or may not be partner agencies of UWSC. Golf Fore Kids Grants Released
The United Way of Story County (UWSC) Board of Directors has approved grants to be funded through the proceeds of the 2014 UWSC Golf Fore Kids event, held in August. Twelve proposals were received from Story County nonprofit agencies and 11 were approved for funding, totaling $22,000.   “We’re grateful for the support of the golfers, business sponsors and volunteers who helped make this year’s event the highest-grossing event we’ve had,” said Kurt Jensen, co-
United Way of Story County 2014 Campaign Kicks Off
United Way of Story County (UWSC) kicked off the 2014 LIVE UNITED annual campaign on Friday, September 5 with a breakfast at The Plex in Ames. Although the campaign officially started on September 5, there were 13 Pacesetter companies who held their UWSC campaigns early to give the campaign a strong start. This year’s Pacesetters included: Ames Chamber of Commerce, Ames Ford Lincoln, Ballard Schools, Bankers Trust, First National Bank, Greater Iowa Credit Union, Kreg Tool, Midwest Insuranc
