Story County Alliance for Philanthropy announces open nominations for 19th annual Philanthropy Day Awards
The Story County Alliance for Philanthropy is seeking nominations for the 19th annual Philanthropy Day Awards. The awards recognize individuals, families, groups, and businesses throughout Story County who have exhibited outstanding financial or leadership support for any charitable cause and are presented by the fourteen non-profit member organizations of the Story County Alliance for Philanthropy.
Award categories include Outstanding Philanthropist, Outstanding Corporate/Foundation Philanthropist, Outstanding Volunteer, and Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy.
Ashley Thompson, President and CEO of the United Way of Story County commented that, “This is a great opportunity for non-profit organizations throughout Story County to come together and say thank you to the community for all they do to help make things better in our community”.
Any individual, group, business, corporation, or foundation within Story County may be considered. The first step in the nomination process is to submit a short Intent to Nominate form by May 31, 2024. The form can be found online and submitted at
www.storycountyphilanthropy.org/nominations or printed and mailed to United Way of Story County, 315 Clark Avenue, Ames, Iowa 50010. Full nomination forms will be due June 28, 2024.
Award winners will be honored at the 2024 Philanthropy Day celebration on November 14, 2024 at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center in Ames.
Those honored in Story County at the 2023 Philanthropy Day Awards were Lou and Cosette Scallon, Story Construction, Jennifer Garst, and the Pam Sibbel Music School.
Philanthropy Day is supported by many organizations and individuals who give their time and talent as members of the Story County Alliance for Philanthropy. The members of the alliance recognize the importance of Philanthropy and volunteer year-round to celebrate and support Philanthropy in Story County.
