Day of Caring brings the spirit of service to life through a dynamic, full-day experience designed for everyone.
This September, get ready to roll up your sleeves for a Day of Caring that promises to be bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever before. Far more than just a volunteer event, this day is a true celebration of community compassion and collective action. When you join us, you are doing more than giving your time—you are helping forge the meaningful connections and social momentum needed to drive us toward our 2030 Community Impact goals!
Join the United Way of Story County team for a brief virtual info session as we walk through the exciting new schedule—including morning field projects, our new afternoon kit-building sessions at the ISU Alumni Center, and the new Family Hour. We will also review sponsorship opportunities, project submission details, and answer any questions you may have.
Thursday, July 16 10:00 - 10:30am
Tuesday, July 28 2:00 - 2:30pm
Our expanded Day of Caring is designed to offer a full, inclusive day of service and celebration for the entire community.
Participants spend the first part of the day on-site, completing essential projects at various nonprofits across Story County. Afterward, volunteers gather together for lunch and a collaborative afternoon dedicated to assembling high-need item kits, contributing to a community art project, and networking with fellow changemakers.
This unique format celebrates the power of volunteerism as the foundation of a healthy community, offering multiple ways to make a tangible difference.
We begin the day with a burst of energy and community spirit at Cornbred. Join neighbors, colleagues, and changemakers as we gather to fuel up and celebrate the launch of our campaign before heading out for a powerful day of service.
Following breakfast, hundreds of volunteers will fan out across Story County to tackle hands-on projects that revitalize local nonprofits and enhance our shared community spaces. Whether you are painting, landscaping, or assembling essential resources, your contribution proves what is possible when we work together toward a common goal.
We are elevating the volunteer experience this year with a brand-new afternoon program at the ISU Alumni Center. Join us for lunch followed by an afternoon of kit building.
For the first time, we are inviting families to join the fun! Bring the kids and show the next generation the power of giving back.
Partner with purpose! Sponsors are the primary engine behind Day of Caring, providing the critical resources necessary to mobilize hundreds of volunteers and complete large-scale projects that transform our community.
Showcase your commitment to philanthropy and volunteerism as the Day of Caring 2026 Presenting Sponsor! This sponsorship includes prominent logo display during the event, on all digital communication, project site signs, and the event t-shirt.
Day of Caring t-shirts are almost as popular as the event itself! Build a sense of community among participants by providing event t-shirts for all volunteers.
As the lunch sponsor, you’ll keep hundreds of volunteers fueled for an afternoon of kit building.
Volunteers will prepare hundreds of kits with a variety of resources that will be distributed to those who need them most in Story County.
Bring the UWSC mission to life in a one-of-a-kind community art piece.
Inspire the next generation of community leaders!
